Approach

My approach is psychodynamic and relational. Psychotherapy offers a space to slow down and become more attuned to the patterns in your life, your relationships and your emotions.

In exploring these patterns we pay attention to the complexity of day-to-day experience and how earlier experiences may continue to shape it. We allow space for feelings that may be confusing or hard to put into words, opening up greater understanding, acceptance, and a more settled, confident sense of self.

Whether something has come to a head recently or built up over a longer period, people often arrive with specific concerns such as depression, anxiety, stress at work or difficult relationships. Therapy can also open into a broader reflection on creativity, identity and change.

Whatever your reasons, therapy is an invitation to pause, reflect and reconnect with what is most important to you.

Some reasons people often seek help:

  • Anxiety

  • Depression and low mood

  • Low self-esteem and lack of confidence

  • Relational and interpersonal difficulties

  • Problems at work

  • Feeling overwhelmed

  • Complex trauma and post-traumatic stress

  • Life transitions

  • Bereavement and loss

  • Sexual and identity concerns

  • Compulsive and addictive behaviours

  • Self-harming behaviours

  • Anger

  • Abuse — physical or psychological
